It is said that the Psalms are valuable as a record of the history of Israel’s response to YHVH as his chosen people. While it is good to know the history of the people, it is far better to know what and how YHVH taught them. The Psalms and Proverbs are rich sources on how YHVH uses the seven spirits of Isaiah 11:1-2 to accomplish this task. In his Psalms, David, the righteous king of Judah, expresses the anguish caused by oppression from other humans and the whispering enchantments of fallen angels. It surrounded him constantly. Even so, he expresses his love and trust in YaHavah throughout his reign as king and in his writings. Today the oppressors have different faces, but bear the same anguish David felt, which is why they are useful to every generation.Proverbs is among the books of wisdom for its teaching on moral and ethical principles. It is, also, an excellent source for learning about the seven spirits of YHVH and how to recognize and avoid their opposite spirits of sin. The student of the Proverbs can learn what YaHavah’s Spirit reveals about the Christian walk and learn what YHVH wants each believer to know about himself and the believer’s relationship with Himself and Jesus.
