Parents and children will enjoy reading this well illustrated and nicely written story book.
The Biblical story of Jonah in the Old Testament began with God talking to Jonah. God told Jonah to go to Nineveh and warn the people that unless they change their wicked ways, their city would be destroyed. Jonah did not want to go. He did not like those people, and he was afraid.
Jonah decided to run away. He would go far away and hide from God. But God wanted all people to be saved. He brought Jonah back, swallowed up by a whale, to do as God wanted and to save the people of Nineveh.

The formal education of Donna Lewis began in a one room country school house and finished at Indiana University graduate school. Her informal education includes the arts and photography, practiced during European travel. She hiked the Colorado mountains and studied drama in Chicago. She is active in her church and with her family, and loves creating art of all kinds. Her favorite media are pastel, watercolor, acrylic and digital painting. She uses her digital painting skills in her small business of "Photo Restoration." Rebecca has had a lifelong love of reading and hopes that these illustrations will help to generate that love in the next generation of readers.

Jonah, persuaded by a friend, takes part, on board a spacecraft, in the first voyage to a planet suddenly appeared in the sky around the Earth. Left alone up there, he receives from God the task of going back to Earth, that in the meantime has been ravaged by a nuclear war, to convince the surviving men to move quickly to the new planet. Once he has fulfilled his mission, he remains alone on Earth, awaiting his final destiny.
