The prophetic march, will take us first to an event called the Great Tribulation, there is much confusion about this period; this is one of the most important prophetic periods of Bible prophecy; and a most terrifying trip into the real near future.

What is the rapture about; will there be one in the future?

Scriptures DO teach about snatching away, plucking or taking out, which will not be up to heaven; not quite the same as a rapture = ecstasy, delight, bliss, seventh heaven, or cloud nine, but rather to a place here on earth, as it was in the case of Enoch and Elijah, it will happen after the Great Tribulation, but before the Day of the Lord, between the sixth and the seventh seals, before the seventh trumpet; therefore, it will be a very different event.

The word rapture is not in the Bible, but some people have given that title to something that will happen in the future. This future prophetic event has not been well understood; nevertheless, it will happen just as it has been written in the Scriptures.

The Day of the Lord consists of seven trumpets.
The seventh trumpet announces the resurrection of the saints, including the two witnesses.
Notice: that the seventh trumpet extends to the end of the seven plagues or bowls of the wrath of God, and that the Day of the Lord, will last more than one year.
But how can the Day of the Lord be more than one day, or one year?

The following expressions point to the Day of the Lord. This is a list of most of the expressions we find in the Bible that point to and around this time (depending on the context), specially when we find them from the book of Psalms all the way to the end of the book of Revelation.
