ELIZABETH PETERS
Elizabeth Peters (seudónimo de Barbara Mertz) nació en 1927 en Illinois, EE.UU., donde se licenció en Historia del Arte y obtuvo el doctorado de Egiptología por el afamado Instituto Oriental de la Universidad de Chicago. Conferenciante habitual en museos y bibliotecas, vive en una antigua granja de Frederick, Maryland, estado en el que fue nombrada Doctora Honoris Causa en Humanidades por el Hood College. Aunque con su nombre real ha firmado ensayos sobre arte e historia egipcios, debe su fama a las novelas de ficción y, principalmente, a la serie protagonizada por la arqueóloga de principios de siglo xx Amelia Peabody, en la que destacan títulos como El enigma del gato grande (1997), El mono que custodia la balanza (1998), Y él hará retumbar el cielo (2000), Hijos de la tempestad (2003) o La serpiente de la corona (2005). www.puntodelectura.com
