Andre Alice Norton (Febrero 17, 1912 - Marzo 17, 2005), nacida Alice Mary Norton, autora de fantasia y ciencia ficción. Tambien ha escrito ficción historica. Fue la primera mujer en recibir el Gandalf Grand Master Award de la World Science Fiction Society en 1977 y gano el Damon Knight Memorial Grand Master Award de la SFWA en 1983. Escribe habitualmente usando los pseudonimos de Andre Norton, Andrew North y Allen Weston. La accion de sus historias suele tener lugar en espacios abiertos, y solo puntualmente aparecen entornos urbanos. Los personajes se mueven solos en grupos pequeños, y normalmente presentan preferentemente episodios guerrilleros en lugar de grandes batallas entre ejercitos regulares. Un tema comun es la presencia de sociedades de tipo feudal o tribal. Los animales tienen un papel importante en sus historias, pudiendo algunos de ellos llegar a comunicarse telepaticamente con los humanos.
