Normans never feel fear—but they do believe that terror literally gives one wings, enabling a person to fly. Now they’re planning to test their theory on Vitalstatistix’s cowardly nephew Jusforkix by pushing him right off the edge of a cliff.

It’s off to the wars for Asterix and Obelix. They’ve enlisted as legionaries in order to rescue Tragicomix, whom the Romans forcibly conscripted. The two find Tragicomix and succeed in causing the biggest commotion ever on a battlefield.

A neighboring Gaulish chief asks the people of Asterix’s village to help guard a cauldron full of money from the Romans. But the sneaky chief plans to double-cross everyone. So he steals back the cash just when Asterix is standing sentinel. Can Asterix and Obelix recover the riches?

When the Romans take Huevos y Bacon’s son hostage, they discover that Little Pepe is a terrible handful. So maybe the legionaries won’t mind so much when Asterix and Obelix save him. But along the way there’s lots of adventure, with Asterix inventing the art of bullfighting.
